Chelsea are further along in their pursuit of Griezmann after a dismal title defence means new boss Antonio Conte will look to revamp a faltering squad.

GRIEZMANN'S SEASON SO FAR

Appearances: 51
Goals: 30
Yellow cards: 5
But he has been advised by some to remain at Atletico for at least another season.

Chelsea cannot offer that next year and United still have a battle on their hands to finish in the top four, even after Manchester City’s slip at Newcastle on Tuesday night.

New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is set to revamp his squad this summer and Griezmann could fit the bill
Nevertheless, both clubs have sent scouts to watch Griezmann, who has scored 10 goals since the end of February alone.
The first of those was away at bitter rivals Real, the forward notching a 53rd-minute winner at the Bernabeu.
It is those sort of moments which the likes of United and Chelsea believe are worth taking a gamble on landing the slight Griezmann.
